How far do you travel?
We are based in Kent and happy to drive up to two hours away, we cover the areas of Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Essex and London.
What and when are your playing times?
We play up to 3x 50 minute sets or 2 x 1hr and 15 minutes. We are flexible and can fit into whatever arrangements you have made for the evening, as a rule of thumb we normally start the first set around 8:30pm or 9pm and space the sets out to end at around 12am.
What time do you arrive and finish?
We have a set fee which includes arriving at approx 6pm, again we are flexible but if we are asked to arrive any earlier than 5:30pm this will usually incur an additional fee. The band takes about 1hr to get set up and test the PA system. We are also able to set up discreetly and forgo a sound check. The set fee includes ending between 12am and 12:30am.
My venue has a sound limiter, can you still play?
We are often asked if we can play with a sound limiter in place, as it is becoming more and more the case with some venues that have neighbours! If the sound limiter is set quite low, the band can provide an electric drum kit (V-Drums) that sounds very realistic and enables the band to play with a similar intensity as to normal.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes we do, venues sometimes ask for proof of Public Liability Insurance which we can provide. We also have all our electrical equipment safety passed stickers.
Can we choose any song for our first dance for you to learn?
Just about! We will learn the song the same as the original or if you want to provide a certain version of a song we can learn that too. Where there are orchestras and brass bands playing on the original we obviously can’t replicate this but you will still have a version that is played in our own style and true the overall feel.
Can we choose every song you play and put them in order?
We normally ask if you would like to choose a number of must have songs from our song list that we can arrange in a particular order for the best musical flow during the evening. The sets are put together in a way that builds towards the end of the evening and also flows well from one song to the next. We don’t like having to stop in-between songs as guests naturally go and sit down or take a break from dancing.
Can my friend or family member get up and sing?
Yes they can as long as it has been pre-arranged before the evening and we know what song they would like to sing. We cannot allow any guests to play any of the instruments during the evening as this raises safety and insurance issues.
How much do you cost?
We have a very reasonable set fee for any type of event within our areas covered. We operate under the VAT threshold and by having found us and booking with us direct through this website you will not be paying any additional agency fee.
We would like to book the Rocksters, what’s next?
Please contact us right away via the contact form to check our availability and we will respond within hours with the set fee and hopefully to tell you that we are available for your special day.
Maybe it’s safer to book through an agent and pay more?
A deposit is required to confirm your booking and once your date is confirmed the Rocksters will honour our agreement without fail. The business side of the Rocksters is treated very seriously; the trust built between clients and ourselves over the years has helped develop word-of-mouth business that we rely on. If anything happens to any of the band members we have extensive lists of musicians and other bands upon which we could draw from in an emergency, which is all an agency could hope to do in such a situation.
